Amazon Prime Video has announced that the highly anticipated season two of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will debut on July 14th. The streaming service revealed that the first three episodes of the show will be available for fans to watch on that date, followed by new episodes being released every week until the season finale on August 18th.
Based on the best-selling book trilogy by Jenny Han, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” tells the story of Belly, a teenage girl played by Lola Tung, who goes on an annual summer vacation to her family friends’ beach house. During her time there, she reunites with her friends Jeremiah and Conrad, who are brothers, and finds herself in a love triangle with them.
Season two will pick up where the previous season left off, with Belly eagerly counting down the days until she can return to Cousins Beach. However, with Conrad and Jeremiah vying for her heart and the return of Susannah’s cancer, she begins to wonder whether the summer will ever be the same again. Things get even more complicated when an unexpected visitor threatens the future of Susannah’s beloved house, forcing Belly to rally her friends together and make some tough decisions about where her heart truly lies.
The show features an impressive cast, including Lola Tung as Belly, as well as Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, and Alfredo Narciso.
