Delhi reported 142 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, along with one death due to incidental COVID-19. The city’s total case count has reached 20,39,883, and the death toll stands at 26,638. The positivity rate for Friday’s cases was 5.43%, down from 7.07% the day before.

Of the 2,613 tests conducted the previous day, 142 were positive. The city’s number of active cases stands at 1,290, and of these, 1,019 patients are in home isolation. The number of occupied COVID-19 beds in Delhi is only 138 out of 7,976, indicating a lower burden on the healthcare system.

Despite the dip in cases, Delhi has seen a spurt in new cases over the past month. This surge in cases has led to mock drills conducted on April 11 in Delhi hospitals to ensure their preparedness to deal with any eventuality.

The decrease in the positivity rate and the number of occupied beds is a positive development. However, it is essential to continue following COVID-19 safety protocols and take precautions to keep the case count from rising again. The government and healthcare authorities must also maintain preparedness to handle any sudden spike in cases.

Overall, the situation in Delhi seems to be improving, with a decline in cases and a lower burden on the healthcare system. However, it is crucial to remain vigilant and continue following safety measures to keep the pandemic under control.
