The Congress party has released its manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, with a particular focus on providing free electricity and monthly allowances for women heads of households and unemployed youth.
The party has promised 200 units of free electricity for households consuming less than 500 units per month. This move is expected to benefit a large section of the state’s population and alleviate the burden of rising electricity bills.
Additionally, the party has proposed a monthly allowance of Rs 6,000 for women heads of households under the ‘Karnataka Priyadarshini Yojana’ and a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 for unemployed youth under the ‘Yuva Swavalambana Yojana’. These initiatives aim to provide financial support to those who are most in need and to address the issue of unemployment in the state.
The manifesto also promises to waive off farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, increase the minimum support price for crops, and provide free education up to post-graduation for students from economically weaker sections. These proposals are expected to benefit farmers and students in the state and provide them with a better quality of life.
It is worth noting that the implementation of these proposals would depend on the party winning the elections and forming the government in the state. Nonetheless, the Congress party’s manifesto has generated significant interest and discussion among the electorate, and it remains to be seen how voters will respond to these proposals on polling day.
