The incident resulted in the loss of 12 lives and numerous injuries. Banerjee expressed her regret and acknowledged that the tragedy could have been prevented with better intelligence.
During her visit to Khadikul village, Banerjee humbly bowed her head down and extended her sincere apologies to the people affected by the blast. She expressed remorse for the loss of lives and emphasized that the incident could have been averted if the intelligence agencies had acted promptly. In an effort to provide immediate relief, the Chief Minister distributed compensation cheques to the families of those who lost their lives or were injured in the blast. Additionally, she handed over appointment letters of ‘home guards’ to one member from each affected family, ensuring financial stability and employment opportunities. This step aimed to alleviate the financial burden on the families and promote their well-being in the aftermath of the tragic event.

She informed them that two individuals from the family of the primary accused, the owner of the illegal factory, had been arrested. She encouraged the villagers to remain vigilant and report any other operational illegal firecracker units to the local police. This call for cooperation highlighted the need for community involvement in preventing such unfortunate incidents.
