Namashi Chakraborty, the son of renowned Bollywood actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali, has recently made his debut in the Indian film industry with “Bad Boy”. Despite being aware of his privilege as a star kid, Namashi believes that talent is the only factor that can determine one’s success in the industry.
In a country where film stars are worshipped and celebrity culture is rampant, Namashi acknowledges that being born to a superstar is a privilege. However, he also understands that it is talent that ultimately decides an actor’s future. “If I act well, I will be known by myself,” he told PTI in an interview.
Namashi’s father had warned him about the “bumpy” ride in the film industry, and the 30-year-old actor has experienced his fair share of auditions and rejections. However, he remained persistent and eventually landed his debut role in “Bad Boy”. Namashi feels grateful for the opportunity and is looking forward to working with new-age directors who are bringing a new narrative to Indian cinema.
His co-star in the film, Amrin Qureshi, shares a similar sentiment. The 24-year-old actress also had to spend years before she landed her first lead role. She took a break, attended acting classes, and brushed up her skills before getting the opportunity to star in “Bad Boy”. Amrin hopes to be part of films that present her in an unconventional avatar and showcase her acting skills.
Namashi and Amrin’s stories serve as an inspiration to aspiring actors who are trying to make their mark in the Indian film industry. While being a star kid may open doors, it is talent, hard work, and perseverance that ultimately determines one’s success. With their debut film, Namashi and Amrin have shown that they have what it takes to make it in Bollywood, and audiences can expect great things from them in the future.
