The NEET-UG 2025 examination is set to take place on May 4, and preparations for the event are in full swing across Assam. With thousands of students preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to the ground on May 3 to oversee the final preparations and ensure the exam runs smoothly and securely.

The Chief Minister announced that the majority of NEET-UG 2025 examination centers in Assam would be located in government institutions. He emphasized that this decision was aimed at providing a more secure, reliable, and efficient environment for the candidates, as well as preventing any potential disruptions during the examination process. According to the CM, using government-run educational institutions ensures that all resources, including security personnel, exam invigilators, and technology, will be efficiently managed to meet the highest standards of fairness and transparency.

The government is committed to providing candidates with a safe, conducive atmosphere in which to take the high-stakes examination, which will play a pivotal role in determining their future medical careers. Sarma further expressed that strict vigil would be maintained in all centers, including the implementation of enhanced security measures and surveillance systems. With such a large number of candidates appearing for the exam, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of preventing malpractice and irregularities at all costs.

Dr. Sarma’s announcement came on the heels of growing concerns from both candidates and parents about ensuring a fair examination process. In a bid to ensure full transparency, the Chief Minister has instructed the concerned authorities to adopt stringent monitoring protocols, including the deployment of special task forces to keep an eye on any suspicious activities surrounding the examination centers. He also clarified that the state government would work closely with law enforcement agencies and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to guarantee smooth conduct on the day of the exam.

The CM also revealed that the authorities would take extra precautions to safeguard the integrity of the exam from any potential cheating, proxy participation, or other fraudulent practices. He underscored the role of local law enforcement in maintaining order and preventing any attempts at disrupting the exam process.

Addressing the media, Assam’s Chief Minister assured the public that strict legal actions would be taken against anyone found guilty of malpractice or creating disruptions. “Our administration is fully prepared to ensure that NEET-UG 2025 is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the integrity of this critical exam,” Sarma stated.

As NEET-UG serves as the gateway to medical education in India, it holds immense significance for aspiring students. The Assam government’s proactive measures come as a response to past issues faced during similar high-stakes exams in the region, including concerns over cheating, technical glitches, and security lapses.

In addition to securing the examination centers, the Chief Minister also emphasized that adequate transportation arrangements would be in place for candidates, especially in remote areas. The government has coordinated with local authorities to ensure that students can reach their designated centers on time, despite any potential challenges posed by weather or other logistical issues. Special arrangements for differently-abled students, including ramps and alternative seating, will also be implemented at all major centers.

As the clock ticks down to the day of the examination, candidates have expressed their confidence in the government’s plans and hope that the measures will ensure a smooth and equitable examination process. The state administration’s focus on government-run centers and strict vigilance is seen as a positive step towards securing the future of medical aspirants across Assam.

On the eve of the examination, the CM urged all candidates to remain calm, confident, and focused, wishing them the best of luck for NEET-UG 2025. The state government, with its tight security and meticulous planning, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the exam is conducted smoothly and without incident, offering a fair opportunity to every student in Assam.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that the government’s approach to tackling potential disruptions would include the use of advanced technology. CCTV cameras, body scanners, and other surveillance tools will be in operation to maintain a controlled and secure environment throughout the examination. By introducing these high-tech measures, the state aims to minimize the chances of malpractice and ensure that only eligible students participate in the examination.

Local communities have also been made aware of the importance of maintaining peace and order during the exam. CM Sarma urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities and avoid any activities that might disrupt the examination process. Awareness campaigns in local languages are being conducted to ensure that the public is well-informed about the significance of the exam and the security protocols in place.

As the exam approaches, educational institutions and coaching centers in Assam have been preparing their students through mock tests and last-minute revisions, aiming to alleviate any stress or anxiety. Many students have expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts in securing the exam process, with several highlighting the significance of the fair opportunity provided by the state.

The NEET-UG 2025 examination in Assam is set to be a key event for thousands of students who aspire to pursue careers in medicine. The state’s focus on providing a fair, secure, and transparent environment for the candidates has gained praise from various quarters. With the preparations well underway, the authorities are confident that the examination will proceed without any major issues, providing a level playing field for all participants.
