The stolen items were valued at approximately Rs 1.4 crore, including gold jewellery, diamonds, and cash, which included Rs 3 lakh that had been set aside for medical expenses.

The senior citizen had reported the missing items on April 28, prompting the police to launch an investigation. Thanks to their efforts, the domestic servant was identified as the culprit and arrested. Most of the stolen jewellery was subsequently recovered.

MUMBAI: Mulund police cracked a theft case, arrested a domestic servant and recovered most of the jewellery he said he stole from a senior citizen’s house worth around Rs1.4 crore. A senior citizen from Mulund (W) had lodged a complaint on April 28 that gold jewellery, diamonds and cash totalling Rs1.4 crore kept in the house had gone missing. The complainant said Rs 3 lakh was kept for medical expenses.
