In a bold initiative to support victims of alleged religious conversion, producer Vipul Shah announced a significant step towards the rehabilitation of 300 individuals at an ashram. Shah, who recently released the thought-provoking film “The Kerala Story,” expressed his commitment to helping those affected by conversion, launching the ‘Protect The Daughters’ initiative with a generous donation of Rs 51 lakh.

“The Kerala Story” has sparked intense political debates across the country, leading to bans in some states while receiving a tax-free status in others. Directed by Sudipto Sen and featuring Adah Sharma in the lead role, the film aims to shed light on the complex issue of conversion and its impact on the lives of individuals involved.

Shah emphasized that the primary objective behind creating “The Kerala Story” was to assist the girls who have suffered due to alleged conversions. Joined on stage by 26 purported victims, he announced the establishment of an ashram called ‘Protect The Daughters,’ which will serve as a safe space for individuals like them.

Addressing accusations of targeting a particular religious community, director Sudipto Sen clarified that the film’s intention was not to favor or demonize any specific religion. Rather, it focused on three girls whose experiences symbolize the hardships faced by numerous others. Sen highlighted the authenticity of the film’s portrayal and encouraged cross-questioning with the alleged victims present on stage.

Shah stressed the importance of focusing on the pain endured by the alleged victims rather than fixating on the film’s iconography. He appealed to the public to support the cause by watching the movie in large numbers. “The Kerala Story” has already achieved considerable success, reportedly crossing the Rs 150 crore mark at the box office.

Expressing admiration for the courageous women who shared their stories, Adah Sharma commended their bravery despite the fear of judgment. One of the alleged victims, Shruti, disclosed her personal experience as a victim of ideological conversion, emphasizing the need to counter the influence of what she described as misleading ideologies.

“The Kerala Story: Protecting the Daughters and Unveiling the Truth of Alleged Religious Conversions” serves as a compelling reminder of the plight faced by victims of alleged religious conversions. By shedding light on their stories, the film aims to raise awareness and initiate dialogue about this sensitive issue. It urges viewers to stand in solidarity with the victims and encourages society to take action against practices that exploit individuals’ vulnerabilities. Through this movie and the ‘Protect The Daughters’ initiative, efforts are being made to provide support, rehabilitation, and a safe haven for those who have been affected by alleged religious conversions.
