Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday expressed full support for the Indian Armed Forces following the success of Operation Sindoor, a decisive strike carried out in response to continued terror provocations. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again proven that India stands firm against terrorism, not just in words but through swift, strategic action.
Dr. Saha commended the courage and precision of the Indian Armed Forces, calling the operation a powerful reminder of the country’s commitment to national security. He emphasized that the surgical strike was not just a military act but a message to enemies of the state that India will not tolerate repeated provocations.
“India has endured the pain of countless terror attacks. From Pulwama to Uri, we have remained patient. But enough is enough. The time has come to answer terror with resolve, and our Prime Minister has delivered on his word,” Dr. Saha said. He added that the people of Tripura stand united with the nation’s forces and back the leadership of the Prime Minister in safeguarding India’s sovereignty.
Operation Sindoor was launched in the wake of escalating tensions and intelligence inputs pointing to imminent threats from across the border. The armed strike neutralized multiple terror launchpads and disrupted planned infiltration routes. While the Ministry of Defence has not revealed full details of the operation, sources indicate it was carried out with tactical precision.
Dr. Saha noted that under PM Modi’s leadership, the morale of Indian defence forces has reached new heights. “Whether it’s strengthening our borders or modernizing our armed forces, the Centre has consistently empowered the military. Operation Sindoor is a result of that consistent focus on national security,” he said.
In Tripura, people welcomed the announcement of the operation with applause and patriotic fervour. Youth organizations and ex-servicemen held small gatherings in support of the forces. Citizens took to social media, posting tricolour emojis and praising the bravery of the armed personnel.
Dr. Saha also addressed the role of internal unity in times of external threats. He called on citizens and political parties alike to set aside differences and present a united front. “At this moment, India needs unity, not division. Political opportunism at the cost of national security should be condemned. Let’s stand with our soldiers, not question their sacrifices,” he said.
The Chief Minister further underlined that the success of Operation Sindoor should be seen as a deterrent for future acts of aggression. “This is a message that India does not hesitate. We defend our borders, our people, and our future with full strength,” he said. He added that such strong responses are essential to protect India’s development, economy, and international standing.
As news of the operation spread, leaders across the Northeast echoed similar sentiments. Many praised the decisive action, saying it would inspire confidence not just in border states, but across India.
In closing, Dr. Saha remarked that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has entered a new era of bold, proactive defence strategy, where words are matched with action. “We are proud of our soldiers. We are proud of our Prime Minister. Operation Sindoor has shown the world that India will never kneel before terror,” he said.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come at a time when national sentiment is heavily tilted in favour of security forces and their right to respond decisively. With elections on the horizon in various states, national security remains one of the dominant themes of political and public discourse.
Tripura’s political leadership, civil society, and youth have joined in expressing solidarity with the armed forces following Operation Sindoor. In several parts of Agartala and other districts, citizens lit candles and held prayer ceremonies to honour the bravery of the personnel involved in the mission. Many schools and colleges observed a moment of silence during morning assemblies, underlining the emotional resonance of the operation across generations.
Meanwhile, BJP workers in Tripura organized rallies celebrating the bold step taken by the government, with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and posters showing support for the Prime Minister and the armed forces. The ruling party’s local leaders said the public’s mood reflects growing confidence in the nation’s ability to stand up to external threats with both restraint and retaliation when needed.
Local defence analysts in Tripura also weighed in, praising the strategic planning behind Operation Sindoor. Some highlighted that such operations not only target enemy hideouts but also disrupt long-standing networks that pose threats to internal security. They suggested that the strike could have a ripple effect in reducing infiltration attempts and demoralizing terror groups operating across the border.
Religious and community leaders across Tripura also voiced their appreciation for the armed forces. From Hindu temples to mosques and churches, prayers for national security and peace were offered. This rare show of collective unity has further bolstered the message that in moments of national crisis, the people of India—and particularly the Northeast—stand as one.
The Tripura government is reportedly working closely with central agencies to ensure that border districts remain on high alert. Security has been stepped up in areas adjacent to international boundaries, with surveillance tightened and additional personnel deployed as a precautionary measure.
Dr. Saha has also directed the state Home Department to remain vigilant and cooperate with national intelligence agencies. He stressed the need for maintaining internal peace and thwarting any attempt to disturb law and order under the guise of protests or misinformation. The Chief Minister has urged citizens to refrain from spreading unverified news on social media and instead rely on official sources.
As the nation continues to monitor developments post-Operation Sindoor, Tripura has emerged as a strong voice of patriotic resolve in the Northeast. The unified response from the state reflects not just support for the Centre but also a deep commitment to the idea of a secure and sovereign India.
