Viacom18 Studios and Tipping Point have revealed their upcoming project slate, which includes an exciting lineup of films and web series.
Among the films on the slate is “Fighter”, which is being billed as India’s first aerial action film. Also in the lineup is “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani”, a romantic comedy directed by Karan Johar. Additionally, the studio plans to release the sequel to the hit comedy “OMG – Oh My God!”.
The studio is also developing a courtroom family drama called “Shastry Vs Shastry”, which stars Paresh Rawal. Meanwhile, “Dhak Dhak” is a coming-of-age journey of four women bikers, starring Fatima Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, and Sanjana Sanghi. Huma Qureshi will star in “Single Salma”, while “Suspect” is an intriguing thriller starring Nana Patekar and Meezan Jaffery.
The slate also includes 10 new web series from Tipping Point, a digital content brand under Viacom18 Studios. These include “Gaanth”, a crime thriller set in Delhi, “Transition”, a reality series following the journey of a trans woman, “Kaalkoot”, an investigative drama with a strong social commentary, and “Boots, Belts & Berets”, a heartwarming coming-of-age story of academy freshers turning to men in uniform.
Other web series in the lineup include “Mahim”, an adaptation of Jerry Pinto’s book set in Mumbai, and “Cheeku”, a coming-of-age story of a 24-year-old man from the Tamil Brahmin Iyer community in Mumbai.
Ajit Andhare, COO of Viacom18 Studios, said that the company’s mission is to curate a diverse slate of stories that connect with viewers across different screens and languages.
In addition to these titles, Viacom18 Studios also has two Hollywood movies on its slate. These are Tom Cruise’s upcoming spy action adventure “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Transformers: Rise of The Beasts”, the seventh installment in the popular Transformers franchise.
