At 54 years old, Roy is one of the oldest celebrity participants in the 13th installment of the show, hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Despite his age, Roy firmly believes that experience outweighs youth when it comes to performing stunts.
In an interview, the actor, known for his roles in movies like Kaabil, Plan, and Shootout At Lokhandwala, expressed his determination to give his best on the show. He acknowledged the enthusiasm and energy of the younger contestants, particularly Shiv Thakare, who comes from a background of reality shows. However, Roy emphasized that his experience would play a significant role in his performance.
While age may be a factor for some, Roy stated that it does not affect his mindset when participating in a show like Khatron Ke Khiladi. He remains focused on giving his all and showcasing his abilities to the best of his capacity. Roy acknowledged that the outcome will depend on how well he performs compared to the rest of the contestants.
Describing himself as an “adventure junkie,” Roy revealed that his motivation for joining Khatron Ke Khiladi is to have unique experiences. He believes that some experiences in life cannot be bought with money, and the show provides an opportunity to engage in thrilling stunts that are rarely available elsewhere. Roy particularly mentioned the rarity of aerial stunts in films unless you are someone like Akshay Kumar. Therefore, he sees the show as a chance to seize once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Additionally, Roy expressed his hope that his participation in Khatron Ke Khiladi will allow filmmakers to see him in a fresh light. He desires to be offered roles in shows where he can portray a mature love story. However, he feels that currently, there is a lack of time and focus on mature content in the industry, with most offerings being centered around mythological and dramatic themes, which don’t align with his persona.
