JioCinema, the streaming platform owned by Viacom18, has recently announced a groundbreaking multi-year agreement with NBCUniversal (NBCU) that will bring a wide array of popular films and TV series to Indian audiences. This comes shortly after JioCinema revealed its plans to become the new home for HBO and Warner Bros content in the country.

Under this partnership, viewers in India will have access to a diverse range of titles from NBCU’s esteemed content portfolio, which encompasses renowned production entities and brands such as Universal Television, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, and Focus Features.

Starting from June, NBCU’s programming will be housed within a dedicated Peacock branded hub on JioCinema’s newly introduced ‘JioCinema Premium’ SVOD (subscription video on demand) tier. This collaboration will allow Indian subscribers to enjoy a variety of Peacock Originals, including highly anticipated shows like the dramatic reimagining of the ’90s comedy series “Bel-Air,” and the investigative drama series “The Calling,” helmed by Emmy winner David E. Kelley and directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson, with music composed by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer and Steve Mazzaro.

Furthermore, the partnership will see the addition of popular movie franchises such as “Despicable Me/Minions” and “Fast,” including the newly released “Fast X,” along with exciting upcoming releases like the voice-starring Chris Pratt in “The Super Mario Bros Movie” and the highly anticipated IMAX-shot epic thriller “Oppenheimer” directed by Christopher Nolan.

Fans of reality television will also have the opportunity to stream beloved NBCU unscripted series such as “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Vanderpump Rules,” offering a diverse range of entertainment options.

Additionally, JioCinema subscribers will gain access to an impressive lineup of critically acclaimed and fan-favorite series from NBCU’s extensive library, including timeless classics like “Downton Abbey,” popular shows like “Suits,” “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “The Mindy Project.”

This partnership between JioCinema and NBCUniversal marks an exciting development in the Indian streaming landscape, as it brings a wealth of premium content to viewers across the country. With the inclusion of NBCU’s diverse and highly regarded offerings, JioCinema further solidifies its position as a leading streaming platform, catering to the varied entertainment preferences of Indian audiences.
