Margherita, Assam – May 1, 2025: A wave of celebration swept across the Margherita subdivision of Assam’s Tinsukia district as several schools reported a 100% pass rate in the Higher Secondary (HS) Examinations 2025, conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The impressive performance has brought cheer to the town and reaffirmed Margherita’s growing reputation as a center of academic excellence in Upper Assam.
Unmatched Academic Performance in Margherita
Multiple schools from the region, including Margherita Higher Secondary School, Ledo College, and St. Stephen’s Junior College, reported that all of their students passed the HS examination across all three streams – Arts, Science, and Commerce. In many institutions, a significant number of students also secured distinctions and star marks, adding further glory to the overall achievement.
Principals and teaching staff credited this success to disciplined study routines, regular mentoring, and active support from parents and the local administration.
“We are thrilled and proud of our students. Despite the challenges faced over the past year, including unpredictable weather and power outages, they remained committed. Their results reflect the collective effort of students, teachers, and guardians,” said the principal of a leading Margherita school.

Students Shine in All Streams
Among the standout performers were students like Priyanka Dutta from Arts stream who scored 472 out of 500, and Arindam Saikia from Science who achieved 465 marks. In the Commerce stream, Nabanita Gogoi emerged as the topper with 460 marks.
These students attributed their success to dedicated study hours, school support, and personal determination. Many now aim to pursue higher education at reputed institutions in Guwahati, Delhi, and Kolkata.
“The pandemic years taught us the value of time and planning. I stayed away from distractions and focused on self-study,” said Arindam, who aspires to become a software engineer.
Teachers, Parents, and Community Celebrate
Teachers in Margherita expressed great satisfaction over the result, especially considering the rural and semi-urban challenges many students face, including limited access to digital learning tools and coaching centers. Many schools organized special felicitation events to honor the toppers and achievers.
Parents too were visibly emotional and proud, with several lighting diyas and distributing sweets to neighbors as a token of celebration.
“We couldn’t afford private tuition, but our teachers went the extra mile. They held extra classes and guided my daughter every step of the way,” said a parent of a Commerce stream student.
Local Administration Applauds Effort
The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Margherita, in a statement, congratulated all the students and school authorities. “This 100% pass rate is a significant educational milestone for Margherita. It shows that with the right support and willpower, rural schools can perform on par with any urban center in Assam,” the SDO remarked.
He also emphasized that such consistent performance will inspire more students to stay committed to academics and reduce dropout rates in the region.
A New Benchmark for Academic Excellence
Margherita’s remarkable performance in the Assam HS results 2025 has now become a model for neighboring subdivisions. Educationists from nearby areas are keen to understand the methods and dedication that led to such success.
With this achievement, Margherita schools have set a new benchmark, not just for the district but for the entire state. Some educators also suggested forming academic exchange programs or study models based on the “Margherita Method” to replicate the success across other underperforming regions.
The 100% pass rate in the Assam Higher Secondary Examinations 2025 has not only filled the students and teachers of Margherita with pride but has also put the subdivision on Assam’s academic map. With a focus on consistency, discipline, and grassroots-level educational support, Margherita stands as a shining example of how community-driven efforts can lead to exceptional outcomes.
As the next academic year begins, hopes are high that this success story will inspire thousands more students across Assam to aim higher and dream bigger.
