The team successfully uprooted and destroyed approximately two acres of illicit poppy cultivation. Manipur’s battle against illegal poppy cultivation is not confined to Tamenglong. In a significant operation on February 18, 2025, security forces, in collaboration with the Forest Department and under the aegis of the District Magistrate, eradicated approximately ten acres of poppy fields in the Khudei Laipham hill range of Tengnoupal district. For example, in Kangpokpi district, a mob of around 80 individuals confronted a security team during an eradication mission, resulting in damage to four vehicles.
