Residents of remote villages say they are struggling to resume normal life. Schools remain shut in several blocks, and many people have lost their livelihood due to damaged crops and infrastructure.
A villager from Barpeta said, “Though water is going down, our homes are still filled with mud and waste. We don’t know how long this recovery will take.”
In addition, civil society groups and local volunteers are working alongside government officials to help with cleaning and sanitation drives. Their collective effort shows how the community is trying to recover through shared strength.
