One of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious football tournaments, the IndianOil Durand Cup, is returning this July–August 2025—and it’s making a historic touchdown in Kokrajhar, Assam. Alongside Kolkata, Imphal, and Shillong, Kokrajhar will serve as one of the key host cities, putting Northeast India’s football fever firmly in the spotlight.

“We’re proud to bring the IndianOil Durand Cup to Kokrajhar. It’s a celebration of football and unity,” said a senior Army official during the announcement.

This marks the second time Kokrajhar will host matches after its successful debut in 2023, highlighting the region’s growing sports infrastructure and passion for the game.
