Rail connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka is set to receive a temporary boost with the introduction of a special Sunday train connecting Tirupati and Vijayapura.

The special service, announced to manage increased passenger demand during the festive season, will operate from October 4 to October 25, 2026. The train will connect several important towns across the two states, providing additional travel options for pilgrims, tourists and regular passengers.

Train No. 07419 will operate from Tirupati to Vijayapura, while Train No. 07420 will serve the return route.

Tirupati–Vijayapura Special Train Schedule

The Tirupati–Vijayapura Special Express will run every Sunday for four trips during the announced period.

Train No. 07419 will depart from Tirupati at 8:15 am and arrive at Vijayapura at 10:25 pm on the same day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07420 will leave Vijayapura at 11:35 pm on Sunday and reach Tirupati at 2:15 pm the following Monday.

The service is intended to provide additional capacity during October, when passenger movement is expected to increase due to festive travel and pilgrimage-related journeys.

The special train will pass through several major railway stations in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Starting from Tirupati, the service will cover Renigunta, Koduru, Razampeta, Kadapa, Yerraguntla, Tadipatri, Gooty and Guntakal.

After entering Karnataka, it will stop at Ballari, Toranagallu, Hosapete, Koppal and Gadag. Further stops include Hole Alur, Badami, Bagalkot, Almatti and Basavana Bagevadi Road before reaching Vijayapura.

The route connects several towns with religious, historical and tourism significance, making the service relevant to different categories of travellers.

  • Two General Second Class coaches
  • Two Second Class-cum-Luggage coaches

The combination of reserved and general coaches is intended to accommodate passengers travelling over different distances along the route.

Additional Travel Options During Festive Season

The introduction of the special train is part of the Railways’ arrangements to handle increased passenger demand during October.

Tirupati is a major pilgrimage destination, while Vijayapura and other towns along the route attract passengers for local travel, tourism and religious visits.

The additional service will also benefit passengers travelling between intermediate stations, offering an alternative to regular train services during the festive period.

Passengers are advised to check the latest timetable and seat availability through official railway platforms before planning their journeys.

Temporary Service to Strengthen Regional Connectivity

The Tirupati–Vijayapura special train will operate for a limited period, with four trips scheduled in each direction between October 4 and October 25.

By connecting key destinations across Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the service is expected to provide greater flexibility for festive-season travel and improve access to towns along the route.
