Manipur final electoral rolls for 2026 have been published for all 60 Assembly constituencies, putting the state’s total electorate at 19,60,620. The final photo electoral rolls were released on September 6 by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s directions. The publication follows an extensive Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise aimed at verifying voter records across the state.
The final list includes 9,53,350 male electors, 10,06,962 female electors and 308 third-gender electors. Women therefore continue to outnumber men among registered voters in Manipur. The gender ratio stands at 1,056 women for every 1,000 men, while the elector-population ratio is 51.99.
Manipur final electoral rolls record 19.60 lakh voters
The latest figures mark a significant change from the number of electors recorded before the revision process began. On May 18, 2026, Manipur had 20,93,076 registered electors, including 10,10,317 men, 10,82,459 women and 300 third-gender voters.
During the enumeration stage, election officials received 19,34,399 enumeration forms. A total of 1,58,677 electors whose forms were not received were left out of the draft roll. These cases included voters identified as absent, deceased, shifted, duplicated or falling under other categories.
The draft electoral roll published on July 5 contained 19,34,399 electors. The revision then moved into a claims and objections stage, allowing individuals to seek inclusion or raise concerns over entries in the list.
Extensive verification preceded the final list
The electoral revision involved detailed verification of voter records. Authorities issued 91,178 notices to unmapped electors and another 11,30,655 notices to voters whose records were flagged for logical discrepancies. This brought the total number of notices issued during the verification process to 12,21,833.
Following hearings and examination of documents, 26,362 electors were found ineligible. Officials cited factors including inadequate documentation, absence, death, shifting and duplication while assessing the cases.
The claims and objections period ran from July 5 to August 4. During this period, 96,985 claims and objections were processed. After scrutiny, 56,871 electors were added to the rolls, while 30,650 names were deleted.
The process was conducted according to a schedule issued for the SIR. House-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers were held from May 30 to June 28, while the draft roll was published on July 5. The disposal of claims and objections continued until September 2, followed by final publication on September 6.
Women remain ahead of men
One of the notable features of the Manipur final electoral rolls is the higher number of female voters. The final figures show nearly 53,600 more women than men on the electoral register.
The 10,06,962 female electors compare with 9,53,350 male electors. There are also 308 registered third-gender electors. The gender ratio of 1,056 is significantly higher than the national average, according to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office.
The final roll also includes 20,819 service electors. The service voters’ list was published along with the final electoral roll, using July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
Voters advised to check their names
Following publication, electors have been advised to verify their details in the final rolls. Copies are available through Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers. The rolls can also be accessed through the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur.
Copies of the final photo electoral rolls for each Assembly constituency were also handed over to authorised representatives of recognised national and state political parties at a meeting held on September 6.
The publication of the Manipur final electoral rolls marks the completion of the 2026 revision exercise. With 19.60 lakh registered electors now included in the final list, the updated rolls provide the latest official picture of Manipur’s electorate and establish the voter base across all 60 Assembly constituencies.
