Second Consecutive Year Indian Young Peacemakers Delegation Visits UN Offices & Palais des Nations-UNOG under the Leadership of Dr. Dinesh Sabnis.

It was second successful consecutive year wherein Indian Young Peacemakers Students Delegation visited Geneva city under the leadership of Dr.Dinesh Sabnis. These students represented where from various campuses of Ashoka Group of Schools, Nashik, India.

The main objectives of these visit was to give students substantial knowledge and hand on experience on how United Nations & its Offices function and how it impacts the International Relations & Diplomacy. In these tour Indian student’s delegation had mentorship from various UN Permanent Mission Offices such as Netherland Mission & Indian Permanent Mission. In mentorship sessions Netherlands Permanent Mission Office career diplomats briefed students on topics such as Disarmament, ILO & Human Rights roles, while in Indian Permanent Mission Office Excellency Ambassador of India Arindam Bagchi had positive interaction with students on the career in Indian Foreign Services & Diplomacy.Indian Students Delegation also visited various UN offices such as International labor Organisation & World Trade Organisation for guided tour and interactive sessions to understand in depth missions and objectives of the given organisations and their roles in International Relations. During given tour Indian delegation also received career guidance advise from esteemed education institutes in Geneva such as DiploFoundation & Geneva School of Diplomacy.Indian Students Delegation had special invitation on 31st May 2024 to attend The International Day of UN Peacekeepers organized by UN Peacekeepers Veterans Association- AISP SPIA in Thonon-les-Bains that was attended and addressed by the Mayor of City Excellency Christophe Arminjon and in Palais des Nations- United Nations Geneva Office attended and addressed by H.E.Alessandra Vellucci, Director- United Nations Information Services & other Guest of Honor Ambassador H.E. Ram Prasad Subedi, Permanent Representative of Nepal.This day is dedicated to honour the contributions and sacrifices of United Nations (UN) peacekeepers in maintaining peace and security around the world. The day also serves as a tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This year being 76th anniversary recognized the service and sacrifice of peacekeepers, past and present, including more than 4200 who have given their lives under the UN flag. It also paid tribute to the resilience of the communities that serve and continue to strive for peace despite many obstacles.Around more than 200 delegates from Europe & Asia attended this event who belonged to various backgrounds such as Government Officials, Diplomats, UN Peacekeeping Veterans & Young Peacemakers.On this day even UN Veterans were honoured with Peace Commemorative Medal for their commendable role and services in the peace process by Hon. President of AISP SPIA Mr. Laurent Attar-Bayrou. Overall The International Day of UN Peacekeepers 2024 was very memorable and commendable event to be watched and celebrated in United Nations Geneva Office.Indian Delegation successfully presented their papers on Human Right Charter, Quality Education, Youth Development & Peace in UN Peacekeepers Veterans Association- AISP SPIA Head Office in Lyon City wherein they tried to inform international community about importance of Right for Education to every gender and emphasized on youth development which can not only sustain peace but also bring development in this Global World. In this event young peacemaker’s delegations from France also participated and shared their views on the various topics to sustain peace in global world. For these successful presentations delegations received participation certificates from Association during Thonon-les-Bains ceremony.
