The Tripura government has successfully filled 17,500 vacant positions across various departments. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced this development, highlighting the administration’s commitment to addressing unemployment and improving governance.
Speaking in the state assembly, Minister Roy emphasized the transparent and merit-based nature of the recruitment process. He noted that the filled positions span critical sectors such as education, healthcare, law enforcement, and civil administration. These appointments are part of a broader strategy to strengthen the state’s infrastructure and service delivery mechanisms.
Looking ahead, the government plans to recruit an additional 13,000 personnel in the coming months. This initiative aims to address the remaining 31,056 vacancies reported across various departments. The Finance Department has already sanctioned 12,338 of these positions, with recruitment processes underway.
Minister Roy assured that the recruitment drive would continue to uphold principles of fairness and transparency. He highlighted the use of digital platforms and streamlined procedures to minimize corruption and ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
The state’s focus on employment generation is also reflected in its fiscal planning. In the 2025-26 budget, the government allocated ₹7,903 crore towards capital expenditure, aiming to boost economic growth and create job opportunities. Additionally, 13 new welfare schemes have been introduced to support job seekers and marginalized communities.
As Tripura continues its developmental journey, these concerted efforts in public sector hiring signify a proactive approach to governance and economic revitalization. The government’s commitment to employment and service delivery is poised to bring about substantial improvements in the lives of its citizens.
