Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday marked the completion of his three-year tenure in office by highlighting the steady progress the state has made across key sectors such as health, education, sports, infrastructure, and social welfare. Speaking at a public event in Agartala, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people of Tripura for their continued trust and support, stating that the development journey of the state is built on the strong foundation of good governance and public participation.
CM Saha said that the government has maintained a consistent focus on transparent administration, efficient delivery of public services, and inclusive development. He noted that several initiatives launched over the past three years have begun to show visible results, especially in rural areas where access to healthcare, quality education, and sports infrastructure has significantly improved. He praised the resilience of the people and the efforts of government departments in ensuring that development reaches every household.
In the health sector, the Chief Minister pointed out that Tripura has expanded its network of primary health centers, improved hospital facilities, and introduced telemedicine services to cater to remote regions. He said that maternal and child healthcare indicators have improved steadily due to enhanced immunization drives, better nutrition programs, and increased awareness among citizens. He also emphasized the role of Ayushman Bharat and state-run health schemes in reducing the financial burden on families.
Speaking on education, CM Saha mentioned that school infrastructure has been upgraded and teacher training has been prioritized to ensure better classroom outcomes. Digital learning has been promoted, especially in the post-pandemic era, to bridge the gap in access to quality education. The Chief Minister said that enrollment in government schools has gone up as a result of new initiatives to provide free uniforms, textbooks, and mid-day meals. Special attention has also been given to the education of girls and students from tribal communities.
On the sports front, CM Saha said Tripura has made impressive strides in building grassroots sports talent and creating a culture of fitness and competition. Several modern sports complexes and training academies have been developed in the state to nurture young athletes. He said that Tripura’s youth are now representing the state at national and international levels, a testament to the government’s focused investment in this sector. The state has also hosted multiple inter-state tournaments, boosting both local participation and tourism.
The Chief Minister also touched upon infrastructure development, stating that the state has improved its connectivity through better roads, bridges, and public transport. Tripura’s integration with national highways and new railway routes has enhanced economic activities, reduced travel time, and opened up new opportunities for trade and tourism. CM Saha mentioned that the state is also making progress in the energy sector, with increased electrification of villages and expansion of renewable energy sources like solar power.
He reiterated that the state government is fully aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” CM Saha said that this mantra has guided all developmental decisions in the state and inspired the government to work for the welfare of every section of society. Welfare schemes for farmers, women, senior citizens, and the economically weaker sections have seen improved implementation and monitoring.
Tripura’s Chief Minister concluded by saying that the journey so far is just the beginning, and the government is determined to accelerate development in the next two years. He called upon the youth of Tripura to become active partners in the state’s progress and assured that the government will continue to create opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment. As Tripura completes three years under the leadership of Manik Saha, the focus remains firmly on delivering stability, prosperity, and inclusive development for all.
The Chief Minister further pointed out that Tripura has seen a rise in investment interest from outside the state, thanks to its improved law and order situation and investor-friendly policies. He mentioned that industrial parks and food processing zones are being developed to encourage entrepreneurship and generate local employment. Ease of doing business has been a key focus area, with single-window clearances and incentives provided to small and medium enterprises. This push towards industrial development, he said, is essential for long-term economic sustainability.
Tourism has also emerged as a promising sector during the past three years. CM Saha said that the state’s natural beauty, heritage sites, and improved connectivity are attracting more domestic and international tourists. Efforts are being made to promote eco-tourism and cultural tourism, while local artisans and handicraft producers are being supported through skill training and market linkages. The state is working to develop tourism circuits that link major attractions and provide a comprehensive travel experience.
Environmental conservation remains a priority for the government. The Chief Minister stated that afforestation drives, water conservation projects, and promotion of clean energy have been actively pursued. Tripura’s green cover has expanded due to consistent efforts from forest departments and public participation campaigns. Solid waste management and plastic reduction measures are being implemented at the municipal and panchayat levels to create a cleaner and healthier living environment.
CM Saha concluded his speech with a message of unity and collective responsibility. He called on all stakeholders, including civil society, youth organizations, and the private sector, to contribute to the state’s ongoing transformation. He said that Tripura’s story of progress belongs to every citizen and that with continued partnership and dedication, the state will set new benchmarks in development.
