Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra will be held across all eight districts of Tripura on October 7 as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with state Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reviewing preparations for the statewide programme. The event will feature processions centred on the Seva Jyoti, along with cycle and motorcycle rallies at different locations.
The programme is being organised as part of a wider nationwide campaign marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service. October 7 marks 25 years since Modi assumed office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan began on September 17 and is scheduled to continue until October 17.
Minister reviews preparations across eight districts
Chowdhury reviewed preparations at an organisational meeting held at the state party headquarters in Agartala on October 2. The meeting focused on coordination and arrangements for conducting the programmes simultaneously across Tripura.
According to reports, the minister stressed the need for close coordination among organisational teams and other functionaries so that the events are conducted in a smooth and orderly manner. The preparations are being coordinated across all eight districts of the state.
A preparatory meeting had also been held at the State Secretariat on September 29, where Chowdhury interacted virtually with District Magistrates from all eight districts. Officials discussed participation, logistics and other arrangements for the October 7 programme.
Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra to include rallies
The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra will centre on processions carrying the Seva Jyoti. Cycle and motorcycle rallies are also planned at different locations, adding a wider public participation component to the programme.
Earlier, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha had announced that the yatra would include service torch processions, bicycle and motorcycle rallies covering villages, towns and cities across the state. The campaign plan also places particular emphasis on participation by young people.
The minister has called for greater participation from college students and youth. BJP state president Abhishek Debroy, who was also involved in the preparations, separately stressed the importance of increased youth participation in the October 7 programmes.
Programme linked to Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
The October 7 programme is one component of the broader Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The campaign includes a series of activities focused on public service, welfare outreach and citizen participation.
In Tripura, the campaign was announced as a month-long programme from September 17 to October 17. Other activities include outreach through Anganwadi centres, service-related programmes, awareness initiatives and camps intended to connect people with government welfare schemes.
The statewide campaign is also being presented alongside the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on October 7. Reports said both programmes will be organised across all eight districts as part of the broader observance.
Events to conclude before 11 am
The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra and related programmes in Tripura are scheduled to conclude before 11 am on October 7. Following the completion of the morning events, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address is scheduled to be broadcast live from 11 am.
Information and Cultural Affairs Department officials have also briefed the minister on arrangements for the programme. The preparations involve coordination between departments, district-level authorities and organisational teams to ensure that activities take place according to schedule.
The October 7 observance comes at a significant point in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which is being held nationwide to mark Modi’s 25 years in public office. The campaign began with programmes in September and includes several activities intended to highlight public service and government welfare initiatives.
With preparations now underway across Tripura’s eight districts, attention is turning to coordination, participation and timely execution of the October 7 schedule. The state-level organisers have called for cooperation from participating groups and greater involvement of young people as the programmes move towards the statewide observance.
