Mizoram is set to witness a major leap in healthcare with the development of a ₹700 crore Super Speciality Cancer Hospital in Aizawl. The ambitious project was recently reviewed by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who emphasized the importance of timely completion and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The cancer centre, once operational, is expected to become a referral hub for the entire Northeast region, providing advanced oncological treatment and diagnostics that were previously accessible only outside the state.
Location & Facilities
The hospital is being developed at a strategic location in Aizawl, and will include:
- Comprehensive radiation therapy units
- Medical and surgical oncology departments
- Chemotherapy wards
- Palliative care facilities
- Accommodation for patients from rural districts
The centre is designed to meet NABH standards and will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by specialist oncologists and support teams.
