CM Highlights Inclusive Governance
CM Tamang emphasized that real progress includes improving conditions for every segment of society, not just high-ranking officials. He said, “Drivers are the backbone of our daily functioning. They deserve respect and comfortable working conditions.”
He also assured that similar facilities would be developed at district headquarters and transport hubs across Sikkim.
Moreover, he urged drivers to maintain discipline, hygiene, and cooperation in using the new space. The CM also hinted at upcoming skill development programs for drivers to help them upgrade their knowledge in vehicle safety and customer service.
Drivers and Public Welcome the Initiative
The inauguration drew appreciation from the drivers’ community, who had long requested such a facility. Many said it reflects the government’s willingness to listen to the needs of the working class.
Driver Bishnu Rai shared, “This is more than just a room. It shows we are seen and valued.” Others echoed that this small but meaningful step will make long workdays more manageable.
