Sara Ali Khan made a stunning debut on the Cannes red carpet, showcasing her Indian roots and culture with a traditional lehenga. The highly-anticipated film festival’s opening ceremony on May 16 witnessed Sara sparkling in a hand-embroidered heavy lehenga from the renowned designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

Embodying the essence of a modern-Indian bride, Sara wore an ethereal beige-hued lehenga adorned with intricate embroidery and sparkling embellishments. She allowed her elaborate outfit to make a statement while keeping her makeup subtle. With nude lips, a hint of blush, and understated eye makeup, Sara accentuated her natural beauty. She elegantly tied her hair in a bun and attached her dupatta to the hairdo, allowing it to flow like a veil.

Interestingly, Sara is not the first Bollywood diva to don a lehenga at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2018, Sonam Kapoor graced the red carpet in a dreamy ivory lehenga by Ralph & Russo, while Vidya Balan has also sported lehenga-choli ensembles in the past.

Ahead of her red carpet debut, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla shared glimpses of Sara’s enchanting ensemble on their Instagram stories, building anticipation for her appearance.

While Sara’s Cannes debut showcased her desi style, she was not alone in making a statement. Esha Gupta also marked her Cannes debut at the opening ceremony, exuding allure in a sultry thigh-slit gown.

Aside from Sara and Esha, the Cannes Film Festival 2023 will witness a range of Indian celebrities gracing the red carpet. Manushi Chhillar, Sunny Leone, Vijay Varma, and Mrunal Thakur are among the notable names set to make their presence felt.

On the professional front, Sara is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” in which she stars alongside Vicky Kaushal. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on June 2.

Sara Ali Khan’s Cannes red carpet appearance in the exquisite lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla truly showcased the fusion of traditional Indian fashion and international glamour, adding a touch of elegance and cultural pride to the prestigious film festival.
