Fatal crash in Veterinary Colony
The Dimapur road accident occurred at around 7:45 pm near an ATM booth in Veterinary Colony, according to information released by Dimapur Police. Preliminary details indicate that a Maruti Gypsy allegedly struck a Royal Enfield motorcycle before hitting a Maruti car and a pickup auto-rickshaw.
The vehicle then continued and ran over two pedestrians. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospitals for emergency treatment. Police said their condition was critical, but both later died.

Victims identified after Dimapur road accident
The victims were identified as 15-year-old Macagbou Charenamai and 17-year-old Gaisinlung Thangmei.
Charenamai was originally from Senapati district in Manipur and was residing in the Burma Camp area of Dimapur. Thangmei was from Kohima and was also living in the Burma Camp area. Their deaths have added to concerns about pedestrian safety, particularly in areas where vehicles and pedestrians share busy local roads.
According to local reports, Charenamai succumbed to his injuries at District Hospital, Dimapur. Thangmei died while undergoing treatment at Nikos Hospital in the city.
Driver arrested, case registered
Police arrested the driver, identified as 25-year-old Bumei Phom, following the incident. A case has been registered at East Police Station in Dimapur, and further investigation is continuing.
Local reports citing the police said the vehicle involved was a Maruti Gypsy bearing registration number NL07CA/5405. The case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Police have not yet released a detailed account of what caused the vehicle to collide with the motorcycle, car and pickup before striking the pedestrians. The investigation is expected to establish the exact sequence of events and determine whether violations or other factors contributed to the crash.
