A mega voluntary blood donation camp was organised at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday.
The camp formed part of Tripura’s month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The state launched the campaign on the same day under the theme “Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva.”
The programme brought together government officials, political representatives, social organisations and voluntary blood donors. The organisers presented blood donation as a form of community service.
Biplab Kumar Deb Donates Blood
BJP national general secretary and Tripura West Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb donated blood at the camp.
His participation formed part of the service activities organised to mark Modi’s birthday. Several BJP leaders and representatives of social organisations also took part in the programme.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also attended the camp. He interacted with donors and reviewed the arrangements at the venue.
The programme focused on encouraging voluntary blood donation and creating greater public awareness about its importance.
Manik Saha Highlights Importance of Blood Donation
Saha said blood donation can save lives during medical emergencies. He encouraged healthy citizens to donate blood voluntarily and regularly.
The Chief Minister also called for greater awareness about voluntary blood donation across Tripura.
He linked the initiative with the broader idea of social responsibility. According to Saha, citizens can contribute to society through activities that directly support people in need.

Around 200 Donors Expected
The state-level programme was expected to attract around 200 blood donors.

5 Tripura Battalion NCC Supports Camp
The blood donation camp was organised under the initiative of the 5 Tripura Battalion NCC in collaboration with the West Tripura District Administration.
The event formed part of several service-oriented programmes planned for the Prime Minister’s birthday.
