NTPC Green Energy Limited has added 81.34 MW of solar power capacity in Rajasthan. The company declared the first part of its Kalasar Solar Energy Project commercially operational from September 26, 2026.
The project is located in Bikaner and forms part of the larger solar component of the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock (RTC) Project. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, is developing the project.
81.34 MW Capacity Becomes Operational
The newly commissioned capacity represents the first part of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project. NTPC Green Energy declared the 81.34 MW capacity commercially operational from 12:00 midnight on September 26.
As a result, the addition increases the installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group. The group’s installed capacity has risen from 10,977.23 MW to 11,058.57 MW.
Therefore, the latest commissioning marks another expansion of NTPC Green Energy’s renewable power portfolio.
Project Located in Bikaner
The Kalasar Solar Energy Project is located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, an area that has become an important location for large-scale solar power development.
The 81.34 MW capacity forms part of a larger 650 MW solar component associated with the REMCL RTC Project. Consequently, the latest commissioning represents only a portion of the solar capacity planned under the broader project.
The development also adds to Rajasthan’s growing installed renewable energy base, particularly in the solar sector.
