Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin at his residence in New Delhi on Friday, October 2, and briefed him on the progress of development works and public welfare initiatives in the state.
The meeting focused on development activities across Chhattisgarh, employment opportunities, government schemes and efforts to accelerate growth in different regions, including Bastar.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Sai shared updates on initiatives being undertaken across various sectors and discussed matters related to the state’s development and party organisation.
Development Initiatives and Welfare Schemes Discussed
During the meeting, Sai apprised Nabin of the progress of several development programmes and welfare schemes aimed at serving the public interest.
The discussion covered efforts to expand development activities across the state and improve access to government initiatives.
Employment generation also featured among the subjects discussed. The Chief Minister briefed the BJP president on opportunities being created through various state-level initiatives.
The meeting was described as a courtesy visit, during which the two leaders exchanged views on matters concerning Chhattisgarh.
Focus on Development in Bastar
Development in Bastar was among the key areas discussed during the interaction.
The region has remained an important focus of the Chhattisgarh government’s development agenda, particularly in relation to infrastructure, public services and economic opportunities.
Sai briefed Nabin on efforts to accelerate development across all regions of the state, including Bastar.
The discussion also covered the broader objective of ensuring that development initiatives reach different parts of Chhattisgarh.
Organisational Matters Also on Agenda
Apart from governance and development, the two leaders discussed organisational matters concerning the BJP.
The meeting came after Nitin Nabin’s appointment as the party’s national president, bringing state-level leadership and the national organisation together for discussions.
Sai also acknowledged Nabin’s leadership in the party through a public message following the meeting.
Nabin Meets Sri Lankan JVP Delegation
Separately, Nabin met a five-member delegation of Sri Lanka’s Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, at the BJP headquarters on Thursday.
The discussion covered India-Sri Lanka relations, shared cultural and civilisational links, organisational structures and youth empowerment.
Nabin highlighted the historical and cultural connections between the two countries, including their shared Buddhist heritage.
The delegation also shared its experiences of governance and welfare initiatives focused on women and young people.
The meeting included discussions on cricket as a bridge between people in India and Sri Lanka, particularly young people.
Chhattisgarh’s Development Agenda
Sai’s meeting with Nabin comes amid the state government’s efforts to advance development across infrastructure, employment, welfare and regional growth.
The Chief Minister’s briefing covered the progress of ongoing initiatives and the government’s efforts to accelerate development in areas such as Bastar.
While the meeting did not announce a new project or funding commitment, it provided an opportunity for the state leadership to update the BJP national president on ongoing work and organisational matters.
