Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari laid the foundation stone for a 2,000-bed hospital in New Town near Kolkata on Thursday.
The facility, named Adani Arogya Mandir, is planned as an integrated healthcare project. The foundation ceremony took place in Action Area 2 of New Town.
Adani attended the ceremony with his wife and Adani Foundation Chairperson Priti Adani and his son Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone. The group and the state government have described the project as a major healthcare investment in West Bengal.

Adani said the group would invest more than ₹4,000 crore in the hospital, medical college and research facilities associated with the project.
