Veteran Indian rock band Parikrama will open the Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show on November 17, 2026, adding a major Indian rock act to the American band’s first Northeast India performance. The concert will take place at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Guwahati.
The announcement places Parikrama alongside one of the world’s best-known hard-rock bands for a major two-city India tour. Guns N’ Roses will perform in Bengaluru on November 14 before travelling to Guwahati three days later.
Parikrama’s selection also connects the concert with India’s long-running rock tradition. The Delhi-based band has performed for more than three decades and will bring that experience to the Guwahati stage.

Guns N’ Roses Guwahati Show Gets Indian Rock Opener
The Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show will feature Parikrama as its special guest on November 17. The official Guns N’ Roses tour schedule lists the Khanapara Veterinary Ground as the venue and Parikrama as the special guest for the Guwahati date.
The concert will mark Guns N’ Roses’ first performance in Northeast India. Consequently, the Guwahati date has become a notable addition to the band’s 2026 India tour.
The American rock group will first perform in Bengaluru on November 14. Sikkim-origin band Girish and The Chronicles will open that concert. Three days later, Parikrama will take the opening slot in Guwahati.
Therefore, the two Indian opening acts represent different generations of the country’s rock scene. Girish and The Chronicles bring a newer hard-rock presence, while Parikrama represent a band that has remained active since the early 1990s.
The pairing also gives the Guwahati concert a distinct Indian identity before Guns N’ Roses take the stage. Reports said both shows will be promoted by BookMyShow Live.
Parikrama Brings Three Decades of Rock Experience
Parikrama’s role in the Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show reflects the band’s longstanding position in Indian rock music. Formed in New Delhi in 1991, the group has built a career spanning more than three decades.
The band is known for combining Western rock influences with Indian musical elements. Over the years, Parikrama has developed a following among several generations of Indian rock listeners.
Their selection also gives the Guwahati concert a connection to India’s established independent music scene. Rather than featuring only an international headline act, the programme will bring an Indian veteran band to the same stage.
According to reports, Parikrama will draw from its established repertoire during the Guwahati performance. The band’s long history includes tracks such as “But It Rained” and “Open Skies,” which have remained associated with its live identity.
Meanwhile, Girish and The Chronicles will represent the newer generation at the Bengaluru concert. The Sikkim-origin band has developed a presence in India’s hard-rock circuit and has also performed internationally.
Thus, the two opening acts provide a contrast in musical generations. Parikrama bring a legacy dating back to the early 1990s, while Girish and The Chronicles represent a more recent chapter of Indian rock.
Guwahati Hosts Band’s First Northeast India Concert
The Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show will be significant for the Northeast because it marks the band’s first concert in the region. The group has previously performed in other parts of India, including Mumbai in 2025.
Guns N’ Roses returned to India in May 2025 after an extended gap. Their earlier Indian appearance came in December 2012 during their first India tour.
The 2026 return therefore comes only a year after the band’s previous India performance. This time, however, the itinerary expands beyond major metropolitan venues to include Guwahati.
The Guwahati concert will also place the city on the band’s international touring schedule. The official tour listing shows Guwahati between the Bengaluru and Jakarta dates.
Moreover, the choice of Khanapara Veterinary Ground provides a large outdoor setting for the event. The venue is expected to accommodate the scale associated with a major international rock concert.
For Northeast music audiences, the event also provides an opportunity to see an internationally recognised band without travelling to another part of India. Additionally, fans from neighbouring northeastern states may be interested in the Guwahati date because of the city’s regional connectivity.
The concert’s significance therefore extends beyond the headline act. It also highlights Guwahati’s growing role as a destination for large-scale music events.
Indian Rock and Global Rock Share the Stage
The Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show will bring together two very different chapters of rock music. Guns N’ Roses emerged from Los Angeles in the 1980s, while Parikrama formed in New Delhi in 1991.
Guns N’ Roses became internationally prominent after the release of their 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction. The album established the band as a major force in hard rock and helped build its global audience.
Parikrama, meanwhile, developed within India’s independent rock circuit. Their music incorporated rock with elements associated with Indian classical instrumentation, helping the band establish a distinctive identity.
Consequently, their appearance before Guns N’ Roses offers a meeting between international rock history and India’s homegrown scene.
The same idea applies to the Bengaluru concert. Girish and The Chronicles will open for Guns N’ Roses there, creating another pairing between an Indian rock act and an international headliner.
Both Indian bands therefore have a specific role in the 2026 tour. They will introduce the evening before Guns N’ Roses perform.
Additionally, their inclusion gives the India tour a stronger connection to the country’s own rock community. It also places Indian musicians in front of audiences attending a major international concert.
Guwahati Concert Builds Anticipation for November
The Guns N’ Roses Guwahati show is scheduled for November 17, giving audiences several weeks to prepare for the concert. The official tour schedule confirms the Guwahati date and Parikrama’s role as special guest.
Guns N’ Roses will arrive in Guwahati after their November 14 Bengaluru performance. The band will then continue its international tour after the Northeast India concert.
For Parikrama, the Guwahati appearance adds another major event to its long career. Performing before an international rock act also places the veteran Indian band at the centre of a high-profile concert programme.
Meanwhile, the event represents another major international music booking for Guwahati. The city has increasingly hosted large concerts and cultural events, strengthening its position within the Northeast’s entertainment landscape.
The November concert will also bring together audiences with different connections to rock music. Some may attend primarily for Guns N’ Roses, while others may be familiar with Parikrama’s work.
Therefore, the opening performance can introduce different listeners to India’s established rock scene. Similarly, Parikrama’s presence can give the concert a stronger regional and national music connection.
With the official tour schedule already confirming the venue, date and opening act, attention will now turn toward the concert arrangements and audience preparations.
