During the launch, Kimneo Hangshing said the facility would bring essential healthcare services closer to people who face difficulties travelling to medical facilities.
She described the mobile medical unit as more than a conventional ambulance. According to her, it represents an effort to bring healthcare closer to people’s homes and reduce distance as a barrier to timely medical care.
The MLA also expressed gratitude to Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh for his support in strengthening healthcare services in Saikul.

Health Department Provides the Ambulance
The mobile medical unit came from the Department of Health Services, Government of Manipur.
The formal inauguration took place at the Saikul Block Ground through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The programme began at 11 am and included prayers and addresses from local representatives and health officials.
Thangkam Lupheng, president of Kuki Inpi Saikul, and Dr Chochon Baite, medical officer in-charge of CHC Saikul, also addressed the gathering.
Their participation highlighted the involvement of local community representatives and healthcare officials in the initiative.

Those units were designed to provide services such as general OPD consultations, basic diagnostics and essential medicines. They also include maternal and child healthcare, screening for diabetes and hypertension, oral healthcare, health awareness and referral services.
The Saikul unit adds to these efforts by providing a dedicated mobile healthcare facility for communities in the constituency.
